At TS Fernie, young people aged 9 to 18 set out on a journey like no other—one filled with fun, adventure, and the chance to learn skills that last a lifetime. Whether you’re out on the water, navigating on land, or taking part in team challenges, every experience helps build confidence, character, and lasting friendships.

We believe in learning through doing. From boating and fieldcraft to ceremonial drill and first aid, our cadets are encouraged to push boundaries and grow in confidence. Along the way, they develop qualities that reflect the very best of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines—courage, commitment, discipline, respect, integrity, and loyalty.

Our dedicated volunteers provide a safe, welcoming space where young people can thrive. Being a cadet means becoming part of something bigger: a team that supports each other, takes pride in their achievements, and has a lot of fun along the way.
